Club night
Tuesday evenings 8.00 - 10.00pm all year round at Yate Academy (Ex. King Edmunds), Yate.
League Teams
The club plans to enter 1 Mixed (Division 4), 1 Mens (Division 7) and a Ladies (Division 2) team in the Bristol League this year. Last year the mixed team were relegated from Division 3 to 4. The ladies were promoted from divison 3 to 2.
Courts
Throughout the winter season there are 4 courts available on club nights, with home matches played on a Wednesday night.
Membership
The current membership fees are: Adults £155 (club fees) + (Badminton England & Avon Badminton Fees)
New Members
Currently there are around 31 members in the club. We are always happy to welcome new members.
In common with other league badminton clubs, our committee will assess potential new members over a period of three weeks before extending an invitation to join the club. This is to ensure the standard of the player matches the standard of the club. If the players standard is higher than the club's they may prefer to go to a stronger club in order to play a more competitive game. If the club's standard is too high for the player they may be better off at another club where they will be able to keep up with play.
Potential new members are welcome to come and visit the club free for their first week after which a visitors fee of £5 (£3 for juniors - but they must be accompanied by a responsible adult - typically parent or guardian) per week is payable for the next two weeks; after this our selectors and chair will discuss joining the club as a full member and if accpeted the fees paid so far would be deducted from the full membership fee.
